BROWN & McRAE is a country legal practice established in 1954, with offices in Fraserburgh, Turriff and Huntly, three towns throughout North-east Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The Firm provides a comprehensive range of legal services for both private and commercial clients, and the "Legal Services" section of this web site lists our main areas of work.

PARTNERS

IAIN P. McRAE was brought up in Fraserburgh and graduated from Aberdeen University in 1973. Iain joined the firm in 1978 and was assumed as a partner in 1981. He works from the firm's Turriff Office and his particular areas of interest are Conveyancing, Company, Commercial and Agricultural Law. He also designed, built, and continues to develop our web site, and so if you have any comments, criticisms or complaints about the site, direct them to him !

MALCOLM J. AITKENHEAD is an Aberdonian and a graduate of Aberdeen University. He began his apprenticeship with Brown & McRae in 1973 and has remained with the firm since then, being assumed as a partner in 1981. Malcolm is the firm's principal Conveyancer, dealing with both residential and commercial properties.

KAREN S. PATERSON was born and educated in Fraserburgh and is a graduate of Aberdeen University. She has worked with Brown & McRae since 1980 and has been a partner since 1983. Her main interests are Family Law and residential conveyancing. Although based primarily at our Fraserburgh office, Karen also regularly sees clients at Turriff.

GRAEME WALKER was born and educated in Edinburgh and is also a graduate of Aberdeen University. He worked in Edinburgh before joining Brown & McRae in 1995. Graeme was assumed as a partner in 1997 and undertakes all the firm's civil & criminal court work and Employment Tribunal matters. He has particular expertise in personal injury claims and commercial disputes.

ASSOCIATE

BARRY SMITH was educated in Fraserburgh and graduated from Aberdeen University in 2003. After completing his Diploma in Legal Practice in 2004, Barry joined an established Aberdeen firm to complete his traineeship. After qualifying he continued to work in Aberdeen before joining Brown & McRae in 2007.
